Thanks to the generosity of a fellow National Muzzleloading Rifle Association

"charter club”, the Raccoon Valley Muzzleloaders (RVML) an exquisite flintlock

longrifle is being offered as this year’s “GRAND PRIZE".

This build was initially started by the recognized builder Steve Kraling of Goodell,

Iowa. Upon Steve’s untimely passing in 2016 the components were acquired by

RVML for completion. Assembled in the Verner style (Andrew Verner, Bethlehem

School, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Circa 1780’s-1790’s) This right-handed

flintlock boasts a 42-inch, .54 cal., swamped Green Mountain barrel, a Chamber’s

lock, Davis set triggers and a very fine curly maple stock. Final assembly was

completed by several of RVML’s members with the final fitting, carving, engraving

and finishing being provided by the extraordinary -talents of Rick McCollom

(Chainsaw) of Jefferson, Iowa.
