Northwest Trade Gun

Steve Kraling built this NW trade gun in 2007.  It has a sheet brass butt plate fastened with hand forged square nails, serpent sideplate, and a large Davis lock.  The barrel is a smooth bore 60 caliber or 20 gauge octagon to round.  The trigger guard is a large mitten type bow.  The shooter can be wearing mittens and still pull the trigger.  There are no sights except the small turtle front sight.  The lock bolt is backwards.  The head is on the trigger guard and the tang is threaded.  This is called an English style tang bolt.
